RESERVOIR’S GOLNAR KHOSROWSHAHI & SPEK HEAD HOME TO TORONTO FOR CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK
Date:
NEW YORK, NY (May 3, 2016)—Independent music publisher Reservoir will see its Founder & President, Golnar Khosrowshahi, and Senior Vice President of Creative and A&R, Spek, among the many music industry executives flocking to Toronto for the annual Canadian Music Week conference this year. On Saturday, May 7th, Khosrowshahi and Spek will speak about entrepreneurship in the music industry and the ever-evolving role of the music publisher in panels entitled New Players, New Ways of Doing Business? and New Frontiers for Music Publishing, respectively.
Canadian Music Week is of particular significance to the Reservoir team, with Khosrowshahi having launched the company from Toronto in 2007 and since divided her time between its offices there and in New York City. Spek has equally deep ties to the Canadian music scene as a former member of pioneering Canadian hip-hop outfit Dream Warriors and a songwriter for national acts including Michie Mee and Raggadeath. Over the years, Canadian talent including Esthero and Beatchild have joined the Reservoir roster, keeping the company connected to the much-watched musical landscape of the country and especially Toronto.
“Spek and I are elated to represent Reservoir at CMW this month,” Khosrowshahi says. “It’s an honor to participate in the premiere music conference in Canada, and we look forward to meeting our peers in our hometown to discuss how to navigate the changing landscape of our industry.”
Canadian Music Week will be held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel at 123 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M5H 2M9, Canada. Both The New Frontiers for Music Publishing and New Players, New Ways of Doing Business? panels will take place on Saturday, May 7th in Sheraton Hall C, with the first panel running from 11:25am to 12:15pm and the second scheduled from 2:30pm to 3:20pm.
