RESERVOIR PRESIDENT GOLNAR KHOSROWSHAHI PARTNERS WITH NMPA AND YO-YO MA FOR WORLD IP DAY EVENT
Date:
April 26 marks World IP Day. On this day each year, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), leads a global movement to increase education and awareness about the role that intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
This year, the National Music Publisher’s Association hosted world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma for a breakfast and Q&A held in the historic Mansfield Room at the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. Ma was joined by NMPA President & CEO David Israelite with special guest National Endowment of the Arts Chair Jane Chu for an insightful discussion made possible by Reservoir President, NMPA board member, and Silkroad President & Chair Golnar Khosrowshahi.
In line with WIPO’s mission to lead the development of a balanced and effective international intellectual property system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all, Ma stressed the importance of musical innovation and devoting resources to the arts, stating, “Our future relies on how much we can support people who do creative and original work.”
