CHARLI XCX DROPS NEW ALBUM ‘CHARLI” FEATURING ALI TAMPOSI COLLAB
Date:
Pop songstress Charli XCX released her latest album, Charli, today. The 15-track project features the poppy love song “White Mercedes,” co-written by Ali Tamposi. Regarding the cut, Brooklyn Vegan notes “[it’s a] startlingly direct love song, a power ballad that wouldn’t be out of place on a rom-com soundtrack… [that] feels strangely radical,” while The Daily Cardinal further elaborates how the song “cuts through the noise but then explodes into an emotional chorus that has serious Spice Girls and Britney Spears vibes.”
“White Mercedes” follows a string of hits co-written by Ali Tamposi including Blink-182’s “I Really Wish I Hated You,” Camila Cabello’s “Liar” and “Shameless,” 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Teeth” and “Easier,” as well as Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s smash collab “Señorita.”
