5SOS DROP EDGY NEW SINGLE ‘EASIER’ CO-WRITTEN BY ALI TAMPOSI
Date:
Australian group 5 Seconds of Summer released their new single “Easier,” co-written by Ali Tamposi, today. Radio.com calls the edgy track “super poppy, synthesized, and bass-filled,” while the band noted to Rolling Stone that “there is a darker tone to this record intentionally.” Detailing the toxicity of an unhealthy relationship, lead singer Luke Hemmings muses, “Is it easier to stay? Is it easier to go?” and “But I know that I’m never, ever gonna change/ And you know you don’t want it any other way.”
5SOS also dropped the captivating music video for “Easier,” featuring the band lamenting their relationship while seemingly trapped in ominous water and flame-filled cavern.
“Easier” follows Tamposi’s co-written single “Lie To Me” off the band’s album Youngblood, as well as her hit co-write “Youngblood,” which recently earned top honors as BMI Pop Awards’ “Award Winning Song”, ASCAP Pop Awards’ “Most Performed Song,” and APRA’s“Outstanding International Achievement” award, as well as “Biggest-selling Single” at the 2018 ARIA’s.
