CAMILA CABELLO PERFORMS “HAVANA” AT THE 2017 MTV EMA AWARDS AND WINS BEST POP
Date:
Last night, Camila Cabello took the stage to perform her smash hit, “Havana,” co-written by Reservoir’s Ali Tamposi, as well as received an EMA award in the Best Pop category. MTV praised the fiery performance, stating, “Cabello structured her performance in four acts: a more conventional choreographed take for the first verse, a flamenco-inspired explosion for the second, a simmer and intimate pause, and an out-of-nowhere finish involved synchronized swimming—all in under four minutes.” As Cabello’s first #1 single, “Havana” has been sitting atop the UK Top 100 Singles Chart for two straight weeks and is heading towards a third.
Rita Ora, whose recent releases include new single “Anywhere” and a feature on Avicii’s “Lonely Together,” both co-written by Tamposi, hosted the awards ceremony. Additional Reservoir cuts, Katy Perry’s “Bon Appetite” feat. Migos, Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye” feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie, co-written by Reservoir/Reverb Music‘s songwriter and artist Ina Wroldsen, earned nominations for Best Video and Best Song, respectively.
Earlier last month, the fierce theatrical music video for “Havana” dropped, instantly grabbing fans attention and earning over 175 million views since its release.
