UPDATED: LOTTE MULLAN RELEASES ‘KISMET DINER’ EP
Date:
Lotte Mullan has released an EP called Kismet Diner. Recorded in Mullan’s Studio in Shoreditch East London, the compilation features music from the short film Kismet Diner, shot by Ridley Scott.
Recorded mostly live, the EP features three acoustic tracks and one full production titled “Breathless”, a collaboration with Bat For Lashes drummer Alex Reeves. “Valentine Song“, the film’s lead track, has emerged as a fan favorite, galvanizing cover versions on YouTube. The popularity of Mullan’s first love song is ironic, however. She explains, “I get emails from people everyday saying I’ve inspired a great romance which is really lovely but also funny as Valentine Song was writen as an apology after I forgot that it was Valentine’s Day.”
The EP is a precursor to Mullan’s next album, recorded in Nashville with Band of Horses, coming early next year.
UPDATE 12/21/14: Further satisfying fans’ love of “Valentine Song” in particular, Mullan posted the track’s guitar chords to Ultimate-Guitar.com, with a promise to post chords for other songs in the near future.
