THE ISLEY BROTHERS INDUCTED INTO THE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME
Date:
This evening, the Songwriters Hall of Fame welcomed its 51st class of inductees, including the iconic soul group The Isley Brothers.
Originally from Ohio, The Isley Brothers are a renowned group who experimented with styles from soul to funk, rock, and R&B. They first broke in the 1950s with their song “Shout,” and they continued to release hits in the 1960s, including their Grammy Award-winning record “It’s Your Thing.” The Isley Brothers have sold over 18 million records in the United States alone. Their induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame adds to their countless recognitions, including their inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Vocal Group Hall of Fame, as well as their Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame 51st Annual Induction & Awards Gala was held in New York City, featuring performances by all the inductees. The Isley Brothers dazzled the crowd with renditions of their hit songs.
