Spring Break Bangers
Date:
March. On the East Coast, it’s the home stretch to warmer times. It’s also the time of year when hundreds of thousands of college kids give the home stretch the middle finger and flock to steamy Spring Break destinations like Miami, Cancun, and Cabo. To fuel this blissful binge of warmth and over-indulgence here are some tried-and-true EDM bangers from the Reservoir catalog to help all of you Spring Breakers stay turnt on your adventure.
Tiesto & KSHMR (feat. Vassy) – “Secrets”
The Old Guard collabs with the new class and the result is fist-pumping bliss. Australian beauty Vassy’s star is rising, and her performance of Phil Bentley’s topline on this record tells us it’s well deserved. As for KSHMR’s sound, if you think you’ve heard it before, you just may be correct. “KSHMR” is the new moniker for Niles “Cyranizzy” Hollowell-Dhar, AKA 1/2 of the pop powerhouse duo The Cataracs. Good thing we still like our beats fast and our bass down low.
Avicii – “Dear Boy”
Avicii and Miami are infamously intertwined forever as he was nearly boo’d off the stage at Ultra 2013 when he premiered “Wake Me Up” featuring Aloe Blacc. I wonder if he knew all along that the record would go on to be the most streamed song of all time on Spotify, and garner over 500,000,000 hits on YouTube. Yes, that number is correct. Like “Wake Me Up”, Reservoir cut “Dear Boy” was released on Avicii’s 2013 album on the album True, and is most certainly a party essential.
Calvin Harris – “Drinking From the Bottle” feat. Tinie Tempah
In terms of the job title of “Vibe Curator/Party Starter”, there may not be anyone that takes his roles and responsibilities more seriously than Calvin Harris. He is an icon in his own right, and deservingly so. With support from fellow UK vibe creator and rapper Tinie Tempah, this one will get you hype for your Spring Break marathon.
HELENA & Vassy – “Boss”
International rising stars Helena and Vassy are bossing up just in time for Women’s History Month. This record is for those who take their partying seriously. Is there any other way to take it? This one may have the most fire drop on the whole list.
Skrillex and Diplo – “Febreze” feat. 2 Chainz
Thanks to the likes of artists like Baauer, RL Grime, and Cranage, “festival trap” has emerged as a mainstay at all of the major music festivals. This cut from EDM powerhouses Skrillex and Diplo is a perfect example of the genre- and who better to have hop on a fun trap banger than 2 Chainz.
