RESERVOIR PARTNERS WITH ONRAMP DIGITAL
Date:
Reservoir is proud to announce a new partnership with OnRamp Digital, a network that facilitates cover performances on Youtube through the use of the user-generated content giant’s Content ID system. Last year, Reservoir became the first independent music publisher to implement Content ID, and has been collecting on videos featuring its writers content ever since. With OnRamp, the relationship becomes even more active, with Reservoir once again among the first to sign on for the plan to solicit cover content from some of Youtube’s most active, visible participants.
In a release about the new initiative, OnRamp CEO Harry Poloner explained, “We are looking to address the specific needs of rights owners by providing a new support system for monetizing more music content, which creates new revenue-generating opportunities for YouTube artists and rights holders.”

OnRamp Digital today announced the launch of a new program that will enable music publishing companies to track the comprehensive usage rights of their artists and songwriters on YouTube. The new network creates a unique opportunity for rights holders, allowing songwriters and YouTube musicians, to jointly share in premium ad revenue created by cover songs. Reservoir Media Management, Big Deal Songs, Bicycle Music, Big Loud Bucks and Wrensong are among the first of a growing roster of partners to engage the service to maximize their YouTube ad revenue.
OnRamp Digital will supplement YouTube’s Content ID tracking and claim the videos on behalf of the rights owner. OnRamp emphasizes monetizing under-serviced user-generated content cover videos, which go largely unclaimed.
“OnRamp Digital assists music publishers by identifying their content that has fallen off their radar,” said Harry Poloner, CEO of OnRamp Digital. “We are looking to address the specific needs of rights owners by providing a new support system for monetizing more music content, which creates new revenue-generating opportunities for YouTube artists and rights holders.”
OnRamp Digital will work with publishers to organize their content on YouTube by creating a library of pre-cleared songs for use by consumers. OnRamp will aggregate the interpreted works into one YouTube channel and sell advertising alongside the videos, offering another opportunity to generate revenue for both copyright owners and YouTube musicians.
OnRamp Digital has partnered with Crunch Digital to administer these songs on behalf of rights owners and provide royalty reporting.
“Music publishers can use OnRamp Digital to help capitalize on opportunities on YouTube,” said Keith Bernstein, Founder of Crunch Digital. “We’ll work with OnRamp to maximize the pool of available songs for their service and facilitate royalty reporting to the content owners.”
