RESERVOIR ANNOUNCES PUBLISHING DEAL WITH GRAMMY-NOMINATED WRITER-PRODUCER CHRISTIAN STALNECKER
Date:
Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR) (“Reservoir” or the “Company”), an award-winning independent music company, today announced a publishing deal with Grammy-nominated writer-producer Christian Stalnecker. The deal includes Stalnecker’s future works, as well as several previous releases, including #1 hit “Thank God” by Kane Brown with Katelyn Brown, “Different Man” by Kane Brown with Blake Shelton and “Rescue Me” by Chris Young, among others.
Throughout his career, Stalnecker has collaborated across genres on hit songs. This past year, he co-wrote the title track and “Thank God” off Kane Brown’s Different Man, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. Furthermore, Stalnecker earned his first #1 as a songwriter with “Thank God,” which held the top spot on Country Airplay for two weeks. “Thank God” also reached #13 on the Hot 100, #21 on MediaBase’s Top 40 radio chart and #26 on American Top 40 Hot AC chart, demonstrating its success across genres. Stalnecker also recently collaborated on Chris Young’s track “Rescue Me” off his Gold-selling album Famous Friends, which reached #13 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on Top Country Albums.
Stalnecker began his music career as a young adult touring across the U.S. with a Christian revival family band before deciding to pursue pop music in high school. He went on to tour in support of Destiny’s Child, Christina Aguilera, the Backstreet Boys and more. Stalnecker relocated to Los Angeles and began writing for artists including El DeBarge and Dreezy. Stalnecker then moved to Nashville where he began collaborating with artists like T-Pain, Rick Ross, Wale, Kane Brown, Chris Young and many more.
On signing with Reservoir, Stalnecker said, “As a southern boy from Florida, who grew up on a bus in Christian music, who wound up being a pop artist, who wrote R&B and hip hop songs, who ended up with country hits- I am thrilled to work with the Reservoir team to continue writing across genres from Nashville.” He added, “I can’t think of a better crew to do it with. There’s a bright future ahead for all of us, and excited to be on this journey with this team.”
Reservoir EVP of Creative, John Ozier, also commented, “Christian has an innate ability to write melodies that transcend genres. His recent Kane and Katelyn Brown hit is exactly the kind of song Christian is so adept at creating – music that has massive crossover appeal. We are so excited to be supporting him as he continues to write hits in multiple formats.”
