PRODUCER JAKE ONE ON SAMPLING PHILLY GROOVE FOR RICK ROSS

Hip-hop producer Jake One, the man behind hits from Drake, Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent,and more, recently posted a video on his YouTube channel detailing how he created the beat for the Rick Ross song “Dope D*ck”. The track, off Ross’ 2015 album Black Market, samples the Reservoir title “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth” by Philly Grooveartist First Choice. Jake One explains how he reached out to Reservoir’s SVP of A&R and Catalog Development Faith Newman to get the multi-track for the song, which he then dissected to form the beat for his Rick Ross cut.
