P&P AMONG THE U.K.’S TOP MUSIC PUBLISHERS IN 2012

Recent Reservoir acquisition, P&P Songs, has made indie music publishing history, snagging a spot among the Top 10 Publishers in the U.K. for the year 2012. A report published in British trade Music Week ranks P&P as the #10 publishing performer, alongside indie heavyweights BMG Chrysalis, Sony/ATV/EMI, and Warner Chappell. Among the magazine’s countdown of the Top 10 Independent Singles Publishers for 2012, P&P comes in at #7, besting Global Talent and Notting Hill and tailing Kobalt and Universal, among others.
The boost in P&P’s market share over the year 2012 was undoubtedly gained in part by the Ina Wroldsen penned ballad, “Impossible.” Originally included on the album No Gravity by Shontelle, a cover of the recording by X Factor winner James Arthur became one of the most successful singles of in British charts history, becoming the 127th single to surpass a million sales in the history of the UK’s Official Singles Chart and selling nearly a million copies in just four weeks.
