NEW JOHN COLTRANE BOX SET RELEASED FEATURING BILLY STRAYHORN & HOAGY CARMICHAEL COMPOSITIONS

A new box set of the legendary works of late jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, Coltrane ’58: The Prestige Recordings, was released today. The 37-track collection, comprised entirely of live studio recordings from 1958, includes renditions of Billy Strayhorn and Hoagy Carmichael catalog classics “Lush Life” and “Stardust,” respectively. Pop Matters called the collection a “treasure-trove of standards,” highlighting both Strayhorn and Carmichael’s compositions. Furthermore, the album notably debuted in the top 5 at #4 on Billboard’s Top Jazz Albums chart upon release.
