NAS & LAURYN HILL PERFORM RESERVOIR HITS AT COACHELLA ’14
Date:
A week after bringing out Jay-Z and Diddy for an onstage surprise at Coachella weekend #1, New York rapper Nas continued to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Illmatic at the California music festival during his second week set on Saturday. Nas brought out iconic R&B singer Lauryn Hill for a rare performance of two classic records that just so happen to be Reservoir catalog tracks: The Fugees’ “Ready or Not” and Nas and Hill’s 1996 collaborative effort, “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That).”
Another artist the Queensbridge MC brought out Saturday is long-time collaborator Damian Marley. The two have paired up for the 2005 song “Road to Zion” and their Distant Relatives album in 2010.
Find footage of Nas and Hill performing together below, and preview both “Ready or Not” and “If I Ruled the Word (Imagine That)” on Reservoir’s website.
