MIKE CAMPBELL TALKS ’SIT STILL LOOK PRETTY’ WITH GENIUS

Reservoir writer Mike Campbell sat down with popular lyric annotation site Genius to give his behind the scenes insight into writing the indie pop hit “Sit Still Look Pretty”, performed by Daya. In the interview, Campbell reveals that he was inspired to write a song about female empowerment after watching P!nk accept an award at the 2015 BMI Pop Awards. In addition, Campbell, along with co-writers Gino Barletta and Britten Newbill, drew inspiration from Aqua’s “Barbie Girl”, creating a response to the tongue-in-cheek dance-pop hit
