LOTTE MULLAN ANNOUNCES NEW EP & VIDEO
Date:
Lotte Mullan took to Folk Radio UK‘s “Song of the Day” feature to announce a new upcoming EP, Claw Marks, due May 26th. The EP marks the first release since 2011’s Plain Jane, which features the Ridley Scott-adopted “Valentine’s Song“. Speaking about the new release, Lotte ruminated on her time spent writing and recording in Nashville with American rock band Band of Horses, a testament to her explorative nature when it comes to new sounds. “It was cool to step outside of the more singer-songwriter approach to making a record,” the singer-songwriter and guitarist said. “The textures and punk attitude allowed for painting a darker picture which really told the story of the songs.”
It’s this same openness to experimentation that is building Mullan’s reputation of being a truly unique artist, one who possesses “raw sounds that other female chart artists have been lacking recently,” according to a recent review on Pie Magazine.
Lotte also debuted an official video for “I Hope It Breaks Your Heart”, a cheeky ballad, to be featured on Claw Marks. Watch it below:
