JOEY BADA$$ AND A$AP ROCKY TEAM UP FOR ‘TOO MANY GODS’ COLLAB ON GAME OF THRONES INSPIRED SOUNDTRACK
Date:
New York rappers Joey Bada$$ and A$AP Rocky joined forces for their hard-hitting new track “Too Many Gods,” featured on the highly anticipated Game of Thrones inspired compilation album For The Throne (Music Inspired by the HBO Series Game of Thrones), released today via Columbia Records.
Hot New Hip Hop notes “both rappers end up referencing the HBO series in their verses, dropping unexpected gems and making everybody seriously listen to the words they’re spitting,” while XXL highlights “In his verse, the Pro Era chief [Bada$$] tells us about growing up with hittas like Ned Stark. He also sounds like he refuses to bend the knee to House Targaryen.”
Pitchfork adds “credit is due to Joey Bada$$, who lets his nerd flag fly on the A$AP Rocky collaboration “Too Many Gods” with footnote-friendly bars including, “Playing with fire but I’m no Targaryen,” and, “Bit the flow harder than Valyrian Steel.”
