JESS GLYNNE SCORES FIRST SOLO #1 SINGLE WITH “HOLD MY HAND”
Date:
In what’s turned out to be a knockout week in the UK for Reverb and Reservoir writers, Jess Glynne scores her first solo #1 single with “Hold My Hand”, masterfully co-written with Reverb writer Ina Wroldsen and Clean Bandit’s Jack Patterson.
Jess has already tasted chart success, having scaled the heights to reach #1 on two previous occasions, with Clean Bandit “Rather Be” and Route 94’s “My Love”. Both of these chart toppers however, saw Jess appear as a featured artist, making this the first time she’s reached the top spot all by herself.
Jess Glynn’s partnership with Jack Patterson is a tried and tested formula, with her having teamed up with the Cambridge-educated electronic group Clean Bandit more than once already and achieving chart success the world over. You’d assume then that adding the songwriting prowess of Ina Wroldsen to an already awesome formula would simply make it more awesome, and that’s exactly what happened here!
The video for hold my hand was released in February this year and sees Jess and friends enjoying laughs, sun and campfires in a desert wilderness, and what better to do in the desert than drive dirt bikes and pickup trucks whilst singing your heart out? A perfect hit of light hearted dance-pop to ease us into the middle of spring.
