HISTORY MADE AT THE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME
Date:
Last night, at the 42nd annual Songwriters Hall of Fame, attendees got the opportunity to witness a bit of music history. As another year passed, another prestigious group of songwriters were inducted into the legendary hall of fame. Performances were given by presenters and inductees that paid homage to the songwriters responsible for some of the most groundbreaking songs of our era. Among the highlights of the night was a stellar duet between inductee Garth Brooks and songwriting legend Billy Joel, performing Brook’s hit “Shameless” (written by Joel). It was an explosive performance, and Brooks was absolutely delighted. “You talk about songwriters, there’s one of the greatest songwriters of all time… and he’s taken a day out of his life to do this, I feel very lucky.”
Other performances included Chaka Khan performing Ashford and Simpson’s “I’m Every Woman”, Drake doing his mega-hit “Best I Ever Had” and Trisha Yearwood singing a Burt Bacharach and Hal David piece. Reservoir was delighted to attend this unforgettable event, and to honor the songs behind the artists.
