Date:
British singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin released her new single “Nothing Really Matters,” co-written by Olivia Sebastianelli and Tommy Baxter, and co-produced by Baxter, today. The upbeat cut features Aplin’s mesmerizing vocals, synth-pop beats, and lyrics promoting self-love.
Wonderland Magazine notes, the track “opens with jangly piano chords, and glimmering synth keys dance around Aplin’s compelling vocals.” Aplin emphasized that the single “is about the battle between the excitement of wanting to open up, and the fear of opening up.”
Sebastianelli collaborated with Aplin on her previous single “My Mistake,” and co-wrote the title track for The Voice Finland runner-up Saara Aalto’s debut album Wild Wild Wonderland.
Baxter’s latest project was RITUAL’s electropop single “Love Me Back” featuring Tove Styrke, off their upcoming Dreamers Never Learn project.
