EMILY WEST RELEASES SINGLE, ‘WONDERFUL THINGS’
Date:
Iowa-native folk and country music artist, Emily West, has released a new single entitled “Wonderful Things.” Penned by PurePop writer Jodi Marr and founding Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson, “Wonderful Things” is bittersweet despite its hopeful name—the retro-pop ballad features a forlorn West singing about a lover who pawns her off by saying “wonderful things that don’t mean anything.”
Since signing with Capital Records Nashville and releasing her four-song debut EP in 2007, West has carved out a place of her own in the country music scene. Her debut single, “Rock in Your Shoes,” peaked No. 39 in 2008 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Two years later, West returned to the charts for a second time with “Blue Sky”, a duet with country A-lister Keith Urban. West continues to enchant the country music scene with her poignant repertoire and distinct vocals.
