The trio of rapper Kool Keith, producer Dan The Automator and DJ QBert, known collectively as Dr. Octagon, released their two-decade anticipated LP Moosebumps: An Exploration Into Modern Day Horripilation, today. Twenty-two years after dropping their cult classic debut album Dr. Octagonecologyst in 1996, the trio has reunited, collaborating on the 11-track project, including lead single “Octagon Octagon”. Back at it again with their signature sound, NPR notes the album as “so embracing of its inner weirdness, so uninterested in lyrical trends or production fads, that it still sounds refreshingly unique” while The New York Times calls it a “compelling collage that feels structurally untethered to hip-hop then or now”.
