BON IVER RELEASES ’22, A MILLION’ FEATURING FIONN REGAN SAMPLE
Date:
American indie folk band Bon Iver released their long anticipated album 22, A Million today. Considered a vast departure from Bon Iver’s previous two folk albums, 22 A Million’s tentracks blend organic and synthetic to include robotic vocal effects, glitchy electronic sounds, and unique samples from the likes of Stevie Nicks, Paolo Nutini, and Irish folk singer Fionn Regan, among others.
The album closes with the haunting “00000 Million” which features a sample of Reservoir’s Regan catalog cut “Abacus”. The New Yorker proclaims that lead singer Justin Vernon has “never sounded this unburdened, this plainly iridescent” as on the “lustrous” closer, whichConsequence of Sound calls “a holy conclusion” to the record.
