Storyville Records has made a seven-CD box set entitled Billy Strayhorn: Out of the Shadows available for the first time in the United States today.  The compilation features dozens of works composed by Strayhorn, including his celebrated standards “Lush Life”, “Take The A Train”, “Chelsea Bridge”, and “Tonk”, plus a DVD with footage of Duke Ellington’s orchestra performing a few of Strayhorn’s most beloved works.

The release of the compilation coincides with a recent re-exploration of Strayhorn’s musical contributions, and the mounting anticipation leading into his centennial year in 2015.
