BILLBOARD PICKS GOLNAR KHOSROWSHAHI’S “MOST IMPORTANT EVENT OF 2012”

As the year winds down, media outlets begin gathering their year-end tallies of the year’s most memorable events. Industry main-stay Billboard is no exception, sifting through the responses of some of their most plugged-in readers to present the “Billboard.Biz Readers’ Survey Results, Part 1: Most Important Event of 2012.”
Among responses from executives like RCA’s Tom Corson, Robb McDaniels of InGrooves/Fontana, and BMI’s Alison Smith, is a statement from Reservoir President Golnar Khosrowshahi, who contributed insight on Sony’s acqusition of EMI Music Publishing, one of the most momentous industry happenings in 2012.
“As a publisher, you’re regularly involved in catalogs changing hands and company acquisitions, but a deal involving catalogs of this magnitude is pretty astounding,” Khosrowshahi comments before going on to describe the acquisition’s impact on the EMI brand.
