AVIN EDWARDS RELEASES ‘SILVER SKIES’ FEATURING FOUR RESERVOIR CUTS
Date:
The Voice South Africa season one runner-up Gavin Edwards releases his debut album Silver Skies today via Universal Music. The album feautres four Reservoir & Reservoir/Reverb Music cuts; the album’s title track “Silver Skies” co-written by Terri Bjerre, “One Day” co-written by John Fortis, “Only Lovers Left Alive” co-written by Ina Wroldsen, and a cover of “Say Something”, the Grammy award winning song co-written by Mike Campbell and originally performed by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera.
Edwards revealed he chose to name the album after the Bjerre cut, because it was one of his favorite tracks on the album and is about “being in a place where you’re doing great, feeling amazing and always chasing after silver skies.” He also noted that each song was hand selected, stating, “I wanted to keep the album upbeat whilst also keeping the lyrics motivational, and make sure that whatever song went onto the album, was exactly the sound I wanted.” Mission accomplished, as the upbeat and bouncy Fortis cut, “One Day,” opens the record, while Campbell’s and Wroldsen’s powerful and inspirational tracks help drive the message throughout the album.
