JONI MITCHELL HONORED WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT 2026 JUNO AWARDS

Joni Mitchell was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Juno Awards. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) called Mitchell “one of Canada’s most influential and enduring creative voices,” adding that she “has profoundly impacted folk, rock, pop and jazz music through her distinctive voice, innovative guitar playing, and a unique ability to craft poetic and thought-provoking lyrics.”
Mitchell accepted the award with a speech reflecting on her career and her recovery from a 2015 aneurysm. Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell performed a medley of her songs, with Mitchell joining to sing her iconic song “Big Yellow Taxi.”
