RESERVOIR ANNOUNCES PUBLISHING DEAL WITH COUNTRY-POP SONGWRITER ALLISON VELTZ CRUZ
Date:
Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR), an award-winning independent music company, today announced a new publishing deal with country and pop songwriter Allison Veltz Cruz including her future works.
Based in Nashville, Cruz has made a name for herself working with a range of country and pop artists. She notched her first #1 and Platinum-selling song in 2011, with “Mr. Taxi,” which she co-wrote for K-pop group Girls’ Generation. Cruz has since then co-written Billboard Country Airplay chart-toppers, such as 2019’s 2x-Platinum-selling “Prayed for You” by Matt Stell and 2020’s Platinum-selling “Somebody Like That” by Tenille Arts. “Somebody Like That” notably made country music history as the first country radio #1 hit written, performed, and produced by all women. Following these successes, Cruz was named the AIMP Rising Songwriter of the Year in 2020. In recent years, she has co-written with some of the biggest names in country music, including with Jason Aldean for his 2023 Country Airplay Top 5 single “Let Your Boys Be Country,” plus collaborations with Luke Combs, Dierks Bentley, Nate Smith, Lady A, Carly Pearce, George Birge, Maddie & Tae, and Lainie Garner, among others.
Cruz commented on the new deal, “This is my dream deal with a dream team and a full circle moment for me. I’ve never been more excited create.”
Reservoir Vice President of Creative Greg Gallo also commented, “Allison Veltz-Cruz is the best – not just for her incredible talent, but also for the authenticity, heart, and hustle that she brings into every writing room. Allison’s ability to craft songs that connect artists to listeners is truly special. Reservoir is excited and honored to partner with Allison on her next set of hits.”
