STATIK SELEKTAH DROPS EIGHTH STUDIO ALBUM ‘8’
Date:
Brooklyn-based producer Statik Selektah has released his eighth studio album, 8, today via Duck Down Music Inc. The 18-track release features singles “Man Of The Hour,” “But You Don’t Hear Me Tho,” “Put Jewels On It,” and “Ain’t A Damn Thing Change,” alongside collaborations with 2 Chainz, Action Bronson, Joey Badass, and Termanology, among others.
His most recent single, “Slept to Death” featuring Cousin Stizz and Curren$y, Statik “lays out a dreamy soundscape for both lyricists to seamlessly float over,” states Billboard. Curren$y flaunts about his impressive work ethic and fresh attire, while Cousin Stizz balances out the soulful track with confidence, as he names himself as rap music’s new “Rookie of the Year.”
The album has been praised for it’s impressive list of features and Statik’s unique sound, with publications like Rhyme HipHop noting, “His versatility underlying the beats sticking true to a jazz-influenced hip hop sound make Statik Selektah one of the best in the game.” Statik recently took to The Cipher podcast to talk about the album, noting, “there is something for everyone on this album. No Matter what kind of hip-hop you like.”
