Multiplatinum Pop-n-B crossover superstar Rihanna kicks off the North American leg of her Diamonds world tour this weekend in Buffalo, New York.  Joining her as opening act is none other than New York City-born “Problems” rapper A$AP Rocky.  Together, the two #1 sellers will touch down in cities from coast to coast on a tour to last through May.

Rihanna and A$AP are both exemplary of the industry’s enduring love of music sampling.  The most recent projects from both include instantly recognizable excerpts–the famous Ginuwine “Pony” chorus on “Jump” from Rihanna’s Unapologetic album, and the unmistakable smoky background vocals from late Blackground recording artist and beloved R&B star Aaliyah on A$AP’s “F**kin’ Problems” from LONG.LIVE.A$AP. 

The Diamonds tour isn’t the first time Rihanna and A$AP will have shared a stage; last September, they performed a remix of Rihanna’s raunchy hit “Cockiness” at the MTV Video Music Awards.

After the North American leg of Diamonds, Rihanna continues globetrotting with stops in Morocco, Portugal, Belgium, and Norway to name just a few countries.
