Reservoir is pleased to have signed Randa Leigh and Brian Vincent–collectively SOS–to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal.

Living and recording just outside New York City, SOS (formerly Shadows On Stars) is known for their dark, expressive alt-R&B and transformative, experiential releases. Since 2012, the duo’s music has earned attention from tastemaker outlets like Complex and Pigeons & Planes, plus a sizable listenership on Soundcloud. Singles like “She Wants”, from 2014’s self-titled release, showcase the band’s ability to play with complementary sonic textures like raw vocals, trap-style high hats, and distorted guitar. Meanwhile, “Youth In Decline”, from the same album, experiments with the type of ethereal undercurrent of sound commonly found in electronic music.

Reservoir SVP of Creative & Business Development Faith Newman first connected with the band after listening to SOS at a contact’s suggestion and finding herself gripped by the album’s groove.

“This is a popular time for cross-genre music, and out of everything out there I really found the sound and delivery of SOS to be unique,” Newman says. “I liked the interplay of the different musical elements Brian blends with Randa’s subtle vocals. Add to that their sleek, downtown kind of look and vibe and I was sold.”

A publisher with that kind of passion for its artists is inevitably made for the perfect fit.”

Immediate plans with Reservoir will see Newman and the Creative team approach labels to partner with the band on their third release. Newman also plans to pursue new collaborative opportunities for the pair across a range of genres.
