RESERVOIR/REVERB MUSIC’S ANNETTE BARRETT RE-ELECTED TO THE INDEPENDENT MUSIC PUBLISHERS FORUM
Date:
Reservoir/Reverb Music’s Managing Director Annette Barrett has been re-elected to The Independent Music Publishers Forum (IMPF) Board, a position she has held since 2013, as announced at the Forum’s annual General Assembly this month. The IMPF is a grouping of more than 65 indie music publishers from all over the world that serves as a network and meeting place to represent the interests of the independent music publishing community. The board noted at the meeting, “Our creative sector, is a major contributor to the world economy and culture. As independent music publishers, we have a long tradition of promoting cultural diversity, and we are committed to upholding the rights of composers to create and to be rewarded fairly for their work. This is the biggest single topic on our agenda”.
Barrett will serve a two-year term alongside 19 other executives, including representatives from Budde Music Publishing, Downtown Music Publishing, Bucks Music Group, Strictly Confidential Music Publishing, Mushroom Music Publishing, FujiPacific, Concord Music, and more.
This next year will see the IMPF continue to share experiences and best practices in music publishing; exchange information on the legal framework and music publishing environment; coordinate actions and support projects relevant to the composition and music publishing; and stimulate a favorable environment for artistic, cultural, linguistic and commercial diversity for composition and music publishing.
