Reservoir/Reverb Music announces the signing of dancehall artist Stylo G to a worldwide publishing deal. The deal will see Stylo G’s future works, including new single “Yu Zimme” featuring Chip, represented by Reservoir/Reverb Music.

Son of legendary reggae artist Poison Chang, Stylo G (real name Jason McDermott) was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and moved to London at the age of fifteen. He pioneered a unique blend of UK hip-hop and dancehall with the release of his 2004 track “My Yout”. The next few years saw the release of several successful mixtapes and collaborations with the likes of Clean Bandit, Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Shaggy, Wretch 32, Chipmunk, Giggs, Lady Leshurr, and Sneakbo, to name a few. In 2012, Stylo G released his underground smash “Call Mi a Yardie”, which earned the support of radio, TV, Djs, and prompted The Guardian to name Stylo G as “One To Watch”. The following year, he dropped “Soundbwoy”, his first major label release on 3 Beat/Universal, an urban-dance label that is home to Sigma, Fuse ODG, and more. The track was a top 20 hit on UK’s Official Charts.

Stylo G spent 2016 touring Europe and Japan while writing his debut EP, entitled Ten Years Later, set to be released this year. The first single, “Yu Zimmie” off the aforementioned EP, was officially released today following an exclusive world premiere on Radio 1’s MistaJam. An early version of the cut first appeared online last December and quickly earned radio support from BBC Radio’s 1Xtra and New York’s Hot 97. The four-track release will also feature Shakka and Banx & Ranx on second single “Under Construction”, Nia and Jr Blender on “Stone Cold Lover”, and Beenie Man and Fanatix on “Ten Metric Ton”.
