PRETTY GIRLS LIKE TRAP MUSIC RECIEVES RIAA GOLD CERIFICATION
Date:
Just three months after it’s release, highly acclaimed rapper 2 Chainz’s fourth studio album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music received it’s official RIAA gold certification. The Atlanta rapper announced to fans via Instagram, while holding a plaque of the albums certification, stating: “…album is on the way to being platinum.”
Pretty Girls Like Trap Music goes down as one of the strongest works by the Grammy-winning rapper. 2 Chainz masterfully crafted the album along the path of embracing trends while still sticking to his roots, centering the album around the idea that high fashion and expensive cars are merely a means of armor against the scars of struggle.
Upon the album’s release, 2 Chainz stated on The View that, “It’s still edgy content, but trap music is defined as low socioeconomic background music where you have to hustle to get out and it’s a situation where a lot of good girls used to like the bad guys, and that’s what this album is about.”
Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, which dropped on June 16th, features 16 tracks, along with collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, and fellow Reservoir artists Migos, among others.
