OLIVER HELDENS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “FIRE IN MY SOUL” FEAT. SHUNGUDZO, CO-WRITTEN BY THE ORPHANAGE
Date:
Dutch DJ and RCA Records recording artist Oliver Heldens teamed up with songwriter-producer duo The Orphanage for his latest collaboration “Fire In My Soul” featuring singer-songwriter Shungudzo. “Fire In My Soul” is set to become an iconic party song, as Shunguzdo’s vocals and Heldens’ celebratory house melody blend to form what Billboardcalls “two minutes and 55 seconds of pure, unbridled celebration.”Of the song’s origins, Heldens remarked, “I went to L.A. for a writing week and got in the studio with Shungudzo, Oak Felder and The Orphanage. We all come from very diverse parts of the world; The Netherlands, Turkey, Zimbabwe, (and) the US. When we got into the studio, I told them I was very inspired by African music recently, so we started showing each other all this different African music we liked. That really got us in this vibe to create ‘Fire In My Soul,'” which Heldens calls “one of my favorite songs I’ve made to date,” notes Billboard.
Earlier this year, The Orphanage earned a Spotify Genius Award nomination for Breakthrough of the Year, as well as a VMA nomination for their multi-Platinum collaboration with Demi Lovato on “Sorry Not Sorry,” on top of their work with Baum and Bea Miller.
