2 CHAINZ DROPS NEW ALBUM ‘RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE’

3/1/2019

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz released his highly anticipated fifth studio album Rap Or Go To The League today, via Def Jam Recordings. The album includes features with Reservoir’s Young Thug, plus Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Chance The Rapper, Kodak Black, and more.

DJ Booth noted “Rap or Go to the League is 2 Chainz displaying his greatest gift as a rapper: eclecticism,” further stating how “the album is a mixed bag of hip-hop flavors with his towering identity at its center.” In reference to the standout track “Hip Hop Versace (feat. Young Thug), DJ Booth exclaimed, “Thug sounds exquisite. Unicorn vocals. I will miss my exit if this song comes on while I'm driving on the interstate. It feels rich. Sonic wealth.”

Rap Or Go To The League was A&R’d by basketball legend LeBron James and made history as the first album ever to have been done so by an athlete. Last night, Chainz took to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon stage to perform the album’s opener “Forgiven (feat. Marsha Ambrosius).”

2 Chainz recently lent his co-writing and performing talents to Ariana Grande’s “7 rings” remix and a bespoke Super Bowl ad spot for Expensify. In addition, his collaboration on Black Panther: The Album, Music From And Inspired By earned a 2019 Grammy Album of the Year nomination and his co-write on Tory Lanez’ album LoVE me NOw contributed to a 2019 Juno Awards nom for Rap Recording of the Year.
