First Dance songs

This swoon-worthy 1999 cut from the Reservoir catalog, which features Keith Urban crooning lines like, “I want to be more than just your man” and “I want to be your everything” are key ingredients that make this romantic, country classic the perfect, traditional first-dance moment.

Train – “Marry Me”

The title of this 2010 track says it all. Pat Monahan’s angelic vocals and passionate lyrics, professing his love when singing, “marry me, today and every day,” emphasize that marriage is all about everlasting love. The song, featured on Train’s fifth studio album, Save Me, San Francisco, was RIAA certified-Platinum less than three months after release, no doubt because of all the weddings it was played at!

Ben’s Brother – “Honeybee”

A recent Ben’s Brother release, “Honeybee” is uplifting, contemporary and lighthearted. Reservoir/Reverb writer Jamie Hartman, who both wrote and recorded the track with his band, has described the song as soulful and positive. With lyrics like “I will follow you, wherever you lead” this song is guaranteed to start a marriage off on the right foot.

Mario – “Let Me Love You”

An unconventional choice for a first dance song but certainly a great one! The cut, co-written by Reservoir’s Scott Storch, features sexy and memorable lyrics like “let me be the one to, give me everything you want and need,” that will definitely have your guests singing along!

Casey Abrams – “Midnight Girl”

Lonestar – “Amazed”

Ella Fitzgerald – “Day Dream”

The Jazz Queen herself released this track back in 1957 with the Duke Ellington Orchestra on Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Duke Ellington Song Book. Co-written by Billy Strayhorn, the song combines Fitzgerald’s deep, soulful voice, a saxophone instrumental and traditional lyrics to create a picturesque moment for a slow dance.

Conrad Sewell – “Remind Me”

Another Jamie Hartman cut, Conrad Sewell’s “Remind Me,” channels intense memories and intimate moments between two people. The Australian singer croons lyrics like “you will always find me,” to emphasize how love guides us – a value relatable to any relationship. Combined with a beautiful, acoustic melody, the 2016 single will give you chills, making it perfect for your special day.

The Delfonics – “La La Means I Love You”
