TOP TEN REASONS WHY JOEY IS THE ULTIMATE 'ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$'

3/27/2017

Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ is set to drop his highly anticipated sophomore studio album, AABA, tomorrow. As we count down the hours until the record's release, we're taking a look at our top 10 reasons why the multi-talented MC is the ultimate All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.

1. He gifted his fans with the powerful track, “Land of the Free”, the album's second single on his 22nd birthday. Its politically charged music video, co-directed by Joey himself, confronts the current state of the world.

2. Joey not only sounds great, but looks great doing it--especially in these recent photoshoots for Billboard and GQ.

3. Joey is blasting through major milestones, including earning his first RIAA Gold Record for AABA's lead single "Devastated".

4. He is inspired and charged by the sense of responsibility he feels as a young artist to speak out on issues that impact his community. Check out this CNN article for more on his world views.

5. He spits fire on the spot! Peep Joey's freestyling prowess at Power 106.

6. His talents go beyond music. Joey landed a major acting role on USA's critically acclaimed hacktivist drama Mr. Robot.

7. He takes his artistry to new heights. Joey talked to Beats1 Radio host Ebro Darden to discuss how he masterminded the album, pairing each musician together to create the final sound.

8. He brings the heat on stage. Catch him on the road during upcoming festival appearances at Lollapolooza, Rolling Loud Festival, and The Observatory’s “Smokers Club 420”.

9. He's up for a challenge. Joey has signed on to guest appear on the 4/18 episode of Traffic Jams, the new series that pairs a rapper and a producer who’ve never worked together before, throws them in the back seat of an SUV, sends them into the middle of LA’s legendary rush hour traffic and tells them that they have to create a brand new song before arriving at their destination, the Spotify-All Def Stage, where hundreds of fans will be waiting to hear them perform that song live.

10. He lives and breathes hip-hop and works to spread the movement worldwide, as evidenced by his prolific christening of 4/7 as the new "Global Hip-Hop Appreciation Day". How will you be celebrating?
