Music has always been a big part of his life, and when he started break dancing in the early 80s, his interest in becoming a DJ was born. In 1986, Cutfather won the Danish mixing championship, and again in 1988. The same year he took the second place in the prestigious DMC World Mixing Final in London. This led Cutfather to work on production and remixes for Queen Latifah, Living Colour, and Patti LaBelle. Two of these songs gave him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B and Best Rap Solo Performance.

In 2003, Cutfather won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work, for his smash hit “Superstar,” performed by Jamelia.
