KYGO DROPS NEW SONG “STARGAZING” CO-WRITTEN BY JAMIE HARTMAN
Date:
Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo premiered his highly anticipated single “Stargazing” via Beats 1, today. The cut, co-written by Reservoir/Reverb Music’s Jamie Hartman, was teased to fans weeks ago at a concert in Norway, where fans had a taste of the unreleased track. Kygo told Billboard, “I’ve been playing it at recent shows and the reaction has been incredible.”
Justin Jesso, the featured artist on the cut, soulfully leads the piano-backed track through a feel-good tropical melody, pushing listeners to move. The uplifting lyrics are chopped up, in time with the drum kicks, as they keep the song moving forward.
Kygo surprised fans by dropping a 5-track EP, also titled Stargazing, in addition to the dazzling single. The EP includes new features with Ellie Goudling, and U2, as well as his smash hit “It Ain’t Me” featuring Selena Gomez, co-written by Reservoir’s Ali Tamposi.
Jamie Hartman is wrapping up a busy summer, as his recent string of hits earned his place as a finalist in the Songwriter of the Year category of Music Business Worldwide’s A&R Awards. Hartman’s work has also earned a nomination for the Music Week Sync Awards for Best Sync – Video Game Trailer, as “Human” performed by Rag’N’Bone Man being licensed in a Mass Effect: Andromeda campaign.
