JP COOPER DEBUTS NEW SINGLE “PASSPORT HOME” CO-WRITTEN BY JAMIE HARTMAN
Date:
British singer-songwriter JP Cooper releases his new single “Passport Home”, today via Island Records UK/Republic Records. The song, written with Reservoir/Reverb Music writer Jamie Hartman, details homesickness with lyrics like “You’re my passport home. My guiding light, so darling keep the light on.” Cooper detailed that the song came to fruition when he was in Los Angeles, missing home, as reported by The Knockturnal, who was in attendance at the singer-songwriter’s Rockwood Music Hall set in New York City last week.
Cooper took to BBC Radio 1 this morning to promote the single and was recently added to the station’s Brit List, a new initiative aimed at providing up and coming talent at “just the right tipping point in their early careers” with long-term playlist support.
Cooper is just the latest in an impressive lineup of burgeoning talent that Hartman has worked with including “James Bay, Conrad Sewell, Rag’N’Bone Man, and more. The songwriter has a knack for helping develop the sounds of up and coming talent, before they break. He told us last year “the wonderful thing about new artists is they’re usually more open. You walk into a room and sometimes you meet people like James Bay and Conrad Sewell, guys who have crazy talent and a willingness to create something bigger than themselves. That is a privilege to be a part of.”
