After debuting the cut at Coachella last month, Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ dropped the official studio version of his new single “Devastated” on Thursday night. Rapping over alaidback beat produced by Adam Pallin, Kirk Knight, and Powers Pleasant, Joey delivers “strong lyrical wordplay” and an uplifting and inspirational hook: “I used to feel so devastated / At times I thought we’d never make it / But now we on our way to greatness / And all it ever took was patience.”

“Devastated” has garnered favorable reviews from the likes of Pigeons and Planes, Hypetrak, and Complex, the last of which noted that “the track is classic Joey, but has a laidback, uplifting feel that seems destined for hip-hop radio.” Consequence of Soundagrees the cut is “sure to set the radio on fire this summer.”
