JOE CANG RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘SLOWTIME’
Date:
Joe Cang released his latest album Slowtime, today. The 16-track project features singles “Always Tomorrow,” “Hungover You,” and “Drug Habits.” The album also includes cut “Troubled Times,” whose lyric music video is notably dedicated to essential workers. Cang describes making the track, noting, “Watching the world hit pause and adjust to the new reality with all its fear and uncertainty balanced with an almost magical sense of unity, it seemed to reflect clearly that its people who make life real. The overwhelming sense of gratitude to the NHS staff and all front-liners, bus and train drivers, shop staff, postal workers, etc. highlighted the real work of these much-overlooked members of our fragile society. The impact was made even starker when a close friend of my mothers contracted the virus and sadly died. I wrote and produced the song at home alone in lockdown and a friend added brass at his studio remotely, true musical distancing!! It’s a strange new normal as a performer to be only relating through a screen but we will get through and overcome these Troubled Times.”
