DAYA DROPS “SIT STILL LOOK PRETTY” VIDEO & ALBUM PREVIEW
Date:
“Sit Still, Look Pretty” songstress Daya drops an official music video to accompany her Gold-certified, evermore popular single today. The video rolls out a week after an audio teaser of the forthcoming Sit Still, Look Pretty album was made available to stream on Spotify.
The new music video features Daya on display as a specimen undergoing makeovers to reflect the different ‘types’ of women a partner might lust after, only to eventually fight her captors and turn the tables on them. With lyrics like “this gal right here’s gonna rule the world” and “this queen don’t need a king”, “Sit Still, Look Pretty” has become an anthem of independence for young women, as reflected in the clip and referenced by collaborator Mike Campbell, who tapped into his feminist instincts to relate to the track’s empowering message.
Meanwhile, the Sit Still, Look Pretty album promises more of the rhythmic grooves and emotive vocals fans have come to love and expect from the seventeen-year-old singer, with the release’s preview stream revealing a mix of bouncing beats, punchy percussion, and quick-witted quips.
Sit Still, Look Pretty will be released on October 7th.
