CARRIE UNDERWOOD RELEASES ‘GREATEST HITS: DECADE #1’
Date:
Oklahama’s Carrie Underwood has released her first hit compilation titled Greatest Hits: Decade #1. The album features Reservoir title and Country-Christian smash hit “Jesus, Take the Wheel”, the lead single off of her 2005 debut album Some Hearts. The track, co-written by Brett James, went on to win Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song, respectively.
In keeping with the album ‘decade’ reference, it has been ten years since Underwood was crowned champion of the 4th cycle of American Idol. At age thirty-one, the singer has already had an iconic career, including 18x #1 records, 6x Grammy Awards, 16x Billboard Music Awards, 8x Academy of Country Music Awards, and has sold a staggering 64 million albums. It’s no wonder that Rolling Stone recently called her “the female vocalist of her generation… of any genre”.
