CARLA MARIE WILLIAMS HONORED ON ALTERNATIVE POWER 100 MUSIC LIST
Reservoir writer-producer Carla Marie Williams has been honored on shesaid.so’s 2018 Alternative Power 100 Music List. The list, which celebrates underrepresented music industry voices, challenges the traditional definition of power and acts as a positive contribution to the diversity conversation and is put together by shesaid.so, a global network of women who work in the music industry. This is only the second year that shesaid.so put together the Alternative Power 100 List, and notably Williams’ second consecutive appearance on the list.
Williams, who recently signed with Reservoir, is also the founder of Girls I Rate, a female empowerment movement that champions women in the creative industries. Girls I Rate works to encourage equality, education, and collaboration between women, as well as hosts songwriting weekenders at their Arts Academy for new female creatives. Last month, Williams held her annual Girls I Rate gala, bringing together 100 women who are leaders and pioneers in the creative industries to raise money for the organization, and in addition, she hosted Spotify UK’s Women Make Music Panel, sharing her perspective as a female changemaker, while debuting her upcoming female empowerment EP, All My Girls.
