BTS ALBUM, ‘LOVE YOURSELF: TEAR,’ FEATURING ALI TAMPOSI AND LIZA OWEN COLLABORATION, HITS NUMBER ONE ON BILLBOARD 200
Date:
BTS’ sixth studio album, Love Yourself: Tear, featuring the hit collaboration, “Airplane Pt 2,” co-written by Reservoir hit-makers Ali Tamposi and Liza Owen, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Selling 135,000 units, Love Yourself: Tear, logs the first time in history that a K-pop album has claimed the top spot, and additionally, the #1 marks Reservoir’s tenth Top 200 album of 2018. Furthermore, Billboard notes that Love Yourself: Tear earned the “second-biggest week for an album by a group in 2018, trailing only the No. 1 debut of Reservoir writers, Migos’ Culture II.” Frenzy for the seven-piece boyband has been at an all-time high, as the group took to the small screen to perform “Airplane Pt 2” over thunderous applause on the Ellen DeGeneres show on May 25th, and Hollywood Life notes that BTS fans are “freaking out” over the song.
