Date:
Today, Billboard has released its 2022 Women In Music Top Executives list. Reservoir’s Founder & CEO Golnar Khosrowshahi has been named Executive of the Year, with Reservoir Executive Vice President, Global Creative Director Donna Caseine and Reservoir Executive Vice President of A&R and Catalog Development Faith Newman also earning spots on the list.
As part of her Executive of the Year recognition, Golnar also was covered in an exclusive feature. In the feature, Billboard recounts Golnar leading Reservoir to its debut as a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ last year, making it the first U.S.-based publicly traded independent music company and the first female-founded and led publicly traded music company in the U.S. Golnar shares her journey with Reservoir, from founding the company in 2007 to supporting top industry names today. Additionally, she discusses some of the complex challenges facing the industry today, including the ongoing fight for fairer compensation for songwriters.
Donna Caseine heads Reservoir’s Creative team, while overseeing an impressive roster of talent including award-winning and hit writers Ali Tamposi, Jamie Hartman, James Fauntleroy, The Orphanage’s Trevor Brown and Zaire Koalo, Lauren Christy, Danja, and more. Donna’s attention to the songwriters on her roster has contributed to 26 Billboard Hot 100 tracks and 20 #1’s across all Billboard charts, including the #1 Hot 100 single “positions” by Ariana Grande, a Mr. Franks collab, and three Billboard 200 #1 albums, in addition to winning a multitude of awards and earning global industry-wide recognition. The songwriters that Donna looks after have earned 10 additional BMI and ASCAP Awards and two 2020 Grammys.
Faith Newman has been with Reservoir for 10 years and has earned wide praise and recognition as a leading voice, tastemaker, and pioneer in hip-hop. In the past year, she facilitated Reservoir’s deal with writer-producer Twysted Genius, who broke through in 2020, co-writing and producing four tracks on Lil Baby’s Platinum-selling #1 Billboard 200 album My Turn. The album spent five non-consecutive weeks at #1, topped the Top Rap Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, and has consistently remained within the top 10 of Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums well into 2021. Faith remains the Creative lead for talent she previously signed including A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Joyner Lucas, Migos’ Offset and Takeoff, 2 Chainz, Just Blaze, Young M.A, Joey Bada$$, and Statik Selektah, among others. Over the last 18 months, Faith’s signings contributed to 66 Hot 100 tracks and 106 Billboard 200 Albums, including 46 #1s across all Billboard charts.
