Lauren Christy’s journey into music began at the age of five when she found a piano buried in the garden at her parents’ house in South London. Drawn to the piano, she discovered her talent for songwriting at an early age. By 19, Lauren signed her first publishing deal with Allen Jacobs at EMI. By age 21, Lauren signed a record deal at Mercury Records, uprooted to LA and started work on her first album with producer Tony Peluso (guitarist for The Carpenters).

Her debut album, ‘Lauren Christy’, garnered her a nomination for Best New Artist at the 1994 American Music Awards. Lauren’s single “The Color of the Night” was a top 10 hit at adult contemporary radio and also landed her a nomination for Best Song in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globes.

With starting her family, Lauren reinvented herself again as co-creator of the writer/producer trio The Matrix, alongside partners Graham Edwards and Scott Spock. The decorated trio co-penned Avril Lavigne’s career-breaking album ‘LET GO,’ which included three international number one hits: ‘Complicated,’ ‘Sk8er Boi‘ and ‘I’m With You’. For ‘Complicated’, the Matrix trio won the Ivor Novello Award for International Hit of The Year. The Matrix also received seven Grammy nominations: Song of the Year in 2003 for ‘Complicated’ and again in 2004 for “I’m With You” along with Producer of the Year.

With 7 Grammy-Nominations under her belt, Lauren Christy is 1 of 7 women ever nominated at the Grammys for Producer Of The Year. She is also a 2x Juno award winner and a BMI Songwriter of the Year Award recipient.

Lauren’s recent independent work includes Enrique Iglesias’ worldwide #1 hit Tonight I’m Loving You, along with Chris Medina (What Are Words), Kelly Clarkson (I Forgive You), Bebe Rexha (I’m Gonna Show You Crazy, Me Myself and I, I Got You, Last Hurrah, Bad Bitch), Dua Lipa (Blow Your Mind Mwah), Iggy Azalea (Team), Avril Lavigne (It Was In Me, Souvenir), The Struts (Body Talks, In Love with the Camera, People), and KORN (Colder, Gravity of Discomfort).

Picking up where she left off as an artist in 1997, Lauren recently announced her upcoming greatest hits project titled ‘Their Hits My Way’ due out Summer 2024. Rolling out the project with monthly single releases, Lauren unveiled the project’s lead single, a moody reimagination of her 2002 hit record “Sk8tr Boi” co-produced with Benj Heard. With the release of her single, Lauren celebrates the 22nd anniversary of “Sk8ter Boi” that she originally co-wrote alongside Avril Lavigne.

Lauren is currently working on Republic Records’ Haiden Henderson, Independent artist Sam Short, and her own daughter’s Georgia Christy Edwards and Sophie Skye Edwards band SkyeChristy signed to Warner Records.“It’s such a blessing to get to make records for a living and help people achieve their vision,” Christy says. “I want to keep doing this until I die. Just bury me with my piano!”
