Reverb Music

Based in London, UK
Writers Jamie Hartman, Peter Gordeno, John Fortis, Matteo Saggesse, Julie Thompson, K-Gee
Reservoir acquired Reverb Music in 2012.

Reverb Music was established in 1991 and has evolved into a creative hub developing writers and artists on an international basis. It now has more than 12,500 copyrights and is continually growing.

Over the last few years Reverb has consolidated its position as one of the most successful independent publishers in the UK. Strong A&R, chart activity, an excellent synchronization rate on a global level and dedicated administration, have seen the company evolve from the emergent position it held through the 1990s into a dynamic, modern publishing operation.

The company has enjoyed a regular market share since 2000, with frequent appearances in the Top Ten UK Publishers Chart with titles consistently in the top reaches of the UK, US and international album and singles charts. Reverb have received several BMI Awards and also Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations, with its catalog licensed extensively on films, TV, adverts and multimedia throughout the world.

Reverb have songwriters and catalogs whose works cover a whole range of genres from mainstream pop, r&b, indie, rock, dance and electronica through chillout and classical crossover to jazz and 70’s disco. The catalog has been recorded by artists as diverse as Rihanna, Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, Il Divo, Razorlight, Paolo Nutini, Pussycat Dolls, Fionn Regan, Turin Brakes, Take That, Tiesto, Apollo 440, Bananarama, Terry Callier, Art Brut, Will Young, Massive Attack, Christine Aguilera, Will Smith, Anastacia, Lemar, Sugababes, Daniel Bedingfield, Siouxsie Sioux, Prodigy, Celine Dion, Hayley Westenra, Clay Aiken, Shakespears Sister, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Usher and 50 Cent. Reverb also publishes the cream of modern dance music with writer/DJs/acts such as Ida Corr v Fedde Le Grand, Mark Knight, Dave Spoon, Plump DJs, Camille Jones v Fedde Le Grand and Narcotic Thrust, also publishing Biddu’s classic 70’s disco back catalog.

The Reverb group includes Leaf Songs Ltd and Reverb Music UK LLP and also has joint ventures with Lifted House, Toolroom, Traxstarz, FastCrowd Music, Hydrogen Dukebox and Second Skin. Reverb also administer the catalogues of Pam Sheyne and Matthew Gerrard and sub-publishes AMV Talpa and Label Bleu in the UK.

Reverb’s successful profile extends to the international arena. Its sub-publisher network is a mix of major publishers and leading independents cherry-picked not only for their industry standing, but their ability to carry out Reverb’s charter, creatively and administratively. Reverb competes at a major level on a global scale while retaining all the advantages of an independent in the fast evolving world of modern music publishing.

In January 2007 Reverb Music merged with its sister company Reverb 2 Music at which time Annette Barrett was appointed Managing Director. Sadly, Reverb founder Ian Wright, a board member of both the MCPS and MPA and a respected industry figure, died unexpectedly in the summer of 2007.

Since 2007 Reverb has continued to grow significantly, cementing its position as one of the UK’s leading independent publishers.
